Newsletter, November 2nd - 6th

This week's news...

We will be starting dance lessons with Royal Dance this week.  Everyday, your child will be working with a professional instructor in the MPR.  Since the entire school will need access to the MPR for these lessons, we will be having lunches outside, picnic style.  Students who get hot lunch will still go to the MPR first to receive their lunch.  To make things go more quickly and smoothly, it would be great for as many children as possible to bring their own lunch to school for the next two weeks.

NO SCHOOL FRIDAY - this is a teacher workday for report cards, enjoy your weekend!

In Reading we will be finishing up our study of habitats and working on a final project.  Students are finishing addition strategies and moving onto subtraction.  Check with your student to see if they have their basic facts memorized.  These will help them be more successful as they move onto bigger numbers and more complex math.  Students should also be reading for at least 20 minutes every night.

THANK YOU!!
Thank you to all of our room parents who organized our awesome Halloween party and thanks to all the parents who came to help!  The kids had SO much fun.  We SO appreciate all of your help and support!

Here are some snapshots of what your students were doing last week.  Check out this great video of one of our students explaining a math strategy.
